January 27th, 2008: Annual Build-It Bowl

Tioga County Habitat for Humanity's second annual Build-It Bowl was held on January 27 at Owego Bowl. The event, the organization's major fundraiser, earned approximately $5500. One hundred sixty seven bowlers participated in the tournament.

With Lockheed Martin as a major sponsor, the fundraiser was organized by members of the company's Financial and Leadership Development Program. Other sponsors were Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers, Friends Grocery in Binghamton, McNamara's Office Products, and numerous local businesses as lane sponsors.

Tioga County Habitat is in partnership with Melvin and Amanda Foster and their four children to build their home on Tuttle Hill Road in Candor, and all proceeds will be used in its construction.

Thanks to everyone that sponsored part of the 2008 Build-It Bowl and helped us to raise funds for the Foster family home. The event was a huge success. Please visit or thank our sponsors that made this possible!
